How we collect, use and protect your information

Mizpah Lodge #302 A.F. & A.M. ("Mizpah Lodge," "the Lodge," "we," "us") is a Masonic lodge in Omaha, Nebraska, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through:

Discord: the Discord Bot reads messages in the channels it can access only to recognize its commands (such as !calendar or !month). It does not store message content. It uses your Discord user ID and server roles only to check whether you may run administrator commands.
Payments: dues and donations are paid through the Grand Lodge of Nebraska's Grandview portal, PayPal or Venmo, or in person. Those services process your payment details under their own terms; the Lodge does not receive or store your card or bank numbers.
Members who opt in may receive text messages from Mizpah Lodge #302 on their birthday and Masonic anniversary. We only text a mobile number you have given the Lodge and have agreed may receive these messages. Before each message, our messaging provider checks that the number is a mobile number; landlines are never texted.

Members who opt in may receive a greeting email on their birthday and Masonic anniversary, sent from an @omahamasons.com address through our email provider, Resend. These are personal greetings, not advertising. To stop receiving them, reply to the email or contact the Lodge Secretary.
The Lodge's Discord server is a private community for members and invited guests. The Discord Bot posts Lodge events and daily birthday and Masonic anniversary announcements there. An announcement may include a member's name, the occasion, their age or years in Masonry, and contact information the member has given the Lodge, so Brothers can send their congratulations. Announcements are visible to everyone in the server.
If you would prefer not to be announced, or want your contact information left out, tell the Lodge Secretary and we will update your record. Members whose records are marked inactive or deceased are not announced or greeted.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
The text messaging limits in section 4 apply in every case.
Contact form messages and RSVPs are kept as long as needed to respond and to plan events, and RSVP records are generally kept for Lodge record-keeping. Member records are kept for as long as you are a member and afterward as required by the Grand Lodge of Nebraska and our bylaws. The log of greetings sent (date, name, occasion, channel, and the address or number used) is kept so we never send the same greeting twice. Analytics data is kept only in aggregate form.
Our Website, Discord server and Member Greetings are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Youth organizations we link to, such as DeMolay, Job's Daughters and Rainbow for Girls, are separate organizations with their own policies.
We limit access to member information to the officers who need it and use reputable service providers with their own security safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change to how we use member information or text messages, we will let members know.
